COMOSS announces the development of POF tester with OPTOKON

Taipei , Taiwan - May 29 , 2008 - Today, COMOSS announces it had reached an agreement with OPTOKON in developing the POF tester together, especially for its OptoLup™ POF cables. OptoLup™ cable ; a type of APF (All-plastic Fiber); both the core and the cladding are made of plastic while the refractive index of the core is higher than the cladding. When an optical ray is transmitted at an angle into the cable, the optical ray can be reflect back at the boundary between the core and the cladding for transmitting. One of the most important applications for OptoLup™ cable is for Optolock™ technology, the Fast Ethernet fiber optic plugless transceiver, an friendly use low-cost solution.

OptoLup--- A Polymer Optical fiber cable that suitable for the Optolock™ applications.

昕鈺公司今天發佈塑膠光纖線的新產品. OptoLup 是一種適合"無接頭傳輸"技術Optolock 的塑膠光纖線.OptoLup 塑膠光纖線 具有中間層的塑膠光纖絲(Core), 及外層的被覆 (Cladding)兩部份, 然後再以塑膠做成的外被將這兩部份包裹起來. (如以下圖示.)由於 中心的光纖絲 及 外層的被覆 都是由塑膠製成, 因此它是 全塑膠光纖 (APF, All-plastic Fiber)的一種.而中心層的光纖絲由於較外層的被覆有較高的折射率, 因此以一個角度光纖絲的光波得以反射回來 而順著光纖絲的方向傳輸於光纖絲的外曾被覆的邊界之內.

   Today COMOSS has launched IEEE-139b 2-port repeater (1394REP-B2000) and IEEE-139b 3-port repeater (1394REP-B3000) to successfully extend the signal from 4.5 meters (standard) to 9 meters. Moreover, like all IEEE 1394 compliant hardware, 1394REP-B2000 and 1394REP-B3000 are easy to be set up and there is no configuration needed. In addition, they support not only “plug and play” function well but also serial bus data transmission rate of 100/ 200/400/ 800 Mbps. Meanwhile, both asynchronous and isochronous data transfers are also supported. As for supported devices, there are CD ROM, DVD, MO drives, PC Camera, Digital still Camera, DV camcorder, DV recorder, High speed HDD, Digital TV, Scanners, Printers and Set top box, etc. Let’s review the technical spec now!

Optolock POF Transceiver Module for Ethernet

   COMOSS today announces that COMOSS OLKDX, an OptoLock POF Transceiver Module, which helps to convert digital to optical / optical to digital in a simple and cost-effective way. In order to make end users to set up Ethernet Media Converter on site easily by DIY method, this low-cost but high-speed OptoLock is integrated in a bare POF termination solution by using COMOSS hand cutter. It is needless to say that even a new end user can finish slice-and-plug installation on the spot immediately. With the invention of COMOSS hand cutter, OptoLock will be used often to facilitate the connection of devices in home network, car models, and consumer electronic products. HDMI V 1.3a

   We are glad to release a piece of surprising news today as our COMOSS HDMI series are complied with not only version 1.2 of the HDMI specification, but also version 1.3a of the HDMI specification from now on. With the release of version 1.3a of the HDMI specification in June 2006, higher display resolution formats were then added such as 1080P, deep color technology, audio/video synching capabilities, etc. Therefore, the bandwidth was increased up to 10.2 Gbps at 340 MHz. In November 2006, HDMI org. released version 1.3a. of the HDMI specification.An updated Compliance Test Specification (CTS V1.3a) document which includes new tests for the capabilities was defined in HDMI V1.3a.
    In fact, HDMI 1.3a specifications cover two categories. CAT1 is the same specifications for Comoss HDMI Cables that have already been tested and approved. Regarding CAT2, it supports a higher bandwidth along the cable and a clock frequency of up to 340 MHz. Our test report here is based on CAT2 HDMI cable & A type connector. It covers the cable assembly test of HDMI specification V1.3a and HDMI Compliance Test Specification V1.3a. (CTS V1.3a.) In CES07' Comoss is going to demonstrate all series of POF & electrical connectivity solutions!

One of the demonstration is with the linkage of Buffalo's NAS (Network Attached Storage) and Note book, along with above POF & electrical connectivity, the leading role of our show can be SMI (Small Media Interface),which deliver POF signals to build up home network. The transmitting performance is going up to 100Mbpsat 50M long and we’ll set up an active network transmitting audio / video at the same time without frame loss!

The other demonstration is with the linkage of 1394 Sony DV camera and Note book, perfectly extend the transmitting distance up to 50M. With isochronous characteristic of 1394 standard, we can see real-time video stream without any frame loss played on the monitor. This firewire solution also allows end-users can access any CE devices such as iPod, DVD player or STB connected to 1394 Ethernet.     2005年3月24日,台灣台北 - 昕鈺公司今天發佈長距離1394介面的解決方案。憑藉著卓越的研發能力, 我們成功地整合塑膠光纖(POF)、POF介面轉換器及IEEE1394b線材組件三者,應用在家庭或汽車的網路(Home & Embedded Car Network)中,資料的傳輸品質並不會隨著距離而有所衰減。在2005年的德國CeBIT展中, 我們實體展示了這項創意:串連Sony的數位攝影機及筆記型電腦,將影像傳輸的距離一舉拉長到50公尺長。藉由IEEE1394同步傳輸的特性,我們能在筆記型電腦螢幕上看到即時的影像傳輸,沒有任何影像掉格之虞。 這也意味著使用者能存取1394網路中連接的各項電子產品,像是iPOD、DVD放影機或是數位機上盒(STB)等等;換個角度來看,使用者能亦將數位內容傳輸到各個節點上,不會再有銅導體線材4.5米的長度限制。昕鈺提供給您完善的長距離1394 (Firewire)介面解決方案!

    2005年3月10號,台灣台北 - 緊接在IDB-1394 Shielded Transceiver之後,昕鈺公司迫不及待推出IEEE1394之介面轉換器(Interface Convertor),線材連接的介面可轉換為符合CAT5規範之對絞線,或經由塑膠光纖(Plastic Of Fiber)來傳輸資料。我們的1394介面轉換器 (Interface Convertor)不只是延長訊號之傳輸距離,同時也讓資料的傳輸速度維持在一定的高頻寬;這項特點讓有需要建構家庭或車用網路的顧客印象深刻,因為在長距離的訊號傳輸需求下,考量到成本及訊號穩定度,CAT5對絞線及塑膠光纖無疑地是較為適合的傳輸媒介。再者,經由IEEE1394b的母座(Socket),我們能用一般的銅導線,連接所有IEEE1394相關之電子產品到網路上,像是MP3撥放機、DVD撥放機或是機上盒(STB)等等,共享所有的資料流,且無資料傳輸延遲的問題。使用者能輕易的就將各式各樣的電子消費產品連接到網路上,所有的視訊及音訊訊號皆可傳輸到網路中的各個節點(node),以供其他使用者存取。昕鈺公司提供完整的IEEE1394解決方案,讓您連接未來的數位生活!

    Shielded IDB-1394 POF Transceiver設計原意是發射接收塑膠光纖所傳輸的光訊號。在車用的網路中,我們的Transceivers能提供S200 (250Mbps)的傳輸速率,傳輸距離更可延伸到50公尺長。憑藉著這項優勢,建構車用的多媒體網路將會是一件簡單而容易的工作;而相關可連接的產品大致上有數位錄放影機,影音撥放機,筆記型電腦等需要高速且同步資料傳輸的電子產品。
    除此之外,Evaluation Board設計的完成,讓Transceivers訊號在S200的高速下維持一定的穩定度。使用者只要連接我們的Evaluation Board及位元糾錯機(BERT),便能輕易的確定訊號在傳輸過程中是否有任何的衰減。昕鈺公司提供給您完善的IDB-1394解決方案,讓您連接未來的數位生活!
